To keep a fresh washing machine, run it on cycle empty now and again. Put your detergent in or rinse through clear vinegar, which will eliminate those soap scum residues and any lingering odours.

The draw, we have all seen what happens to the washing machine drawers. They get bits of fabric softener or soap stuck which can quickly turn black. Periodically, remove the drawer (if you can) and wash in warm soapy water use an old toothbrush on the hard-to-reach areas.

Finally, empty the filter, you will be amazed at the bits the filter can collect. Emptying it regularly will ensure there is no stagnant dirty water sitting in the pipes. This will ensure your machine runs properly and has no bad smell.
