5 Top Cleaning Hacks for Christmas

The Dreaded Oven

Baking soda and vinegar are the magic combo here! Firstly, give the oven a quick scrape to get rid of any chunky burned on food, (a wallpaper scraper is fabulous for this!)   Next, mix a couple of tablespoons of vinegar with some baking soda to form a spreadable paste. Smear the mixture on the inside walls of the oven, including the glass door, as this works a treat here too! Turn on the oven for 5 minutes then leave with the door open for a further 15 minutes. Then simply wipe down with warm soapy water and your oven will be sparkling clean!

Bathroom Blitz

Fill an empty spray bottle with equal parts water and vinegar, this awesome combo with make short work of any bathroom. Simply spritz over your tiles, sink and loo, allow to dry (this is key!), and rinse. Voila, instant sparkle! For any of those horrid black stains, mix a little baking soda and water in a cup and give them a quick scrub with an old toothbrush.

The Dreaded Pine Needles

As beautiful as real Christmas trees are, if you have carpets and have tried hoovering the needles up, you’ll know the only time they ever seem to come out of the carpet easily is when they are stuck in your feet! Duct tape is the answer! Simply wrap around your hand a two or three times, sticky side out, and use to remove them quickly and easily.

Quick Microwave Makeover

Everything seems to explode in the microwave and then set like cement! Never fear, white vinegar is here! Simply fill a microwavable cup half way with white vinegar, and heat for 3 minutes. Discard the vinegar and your microwave will now simply wipe clean!

Your dishwasher really is your best friend! Not only for the usual cutlery, crockery and pots and pans, your dishwasher is also great for ornaments, vases and bathroom bits like soap dishes and toothbrush holders. It will also make super quick work of all the removable sections and shelves from your fridge and oven!
