10 Ideas to Shake off the Holiday BluesIt’s that time of year again, we will soon be jetting off on our hollibobs. Is there anything worse than returning home from holiday? That sinking feeling when you get home when you realise just how much washing and ironing you’ve created and to top it all you’re going to have to clean the house. Never mind getting back from your holiday rested, relaxed and raring to go – if you’re anything like me then it is more like harassed, harried and hectic!

Cook or go out for your favourite meal – one of the things we miss most on holiday is or favourite food, whether that is a bacon sandwich, a roast dinner or good ole fish and chips, treat yourself. Your spirits will perk up no end!

Call your friends and family – chances are you will have thought on a couple of occasions: ‘Oooh I wish so and so was here to share this with’ or, ‘our Michelle would love this’ give them a call and let them know how great your holiday was and how much you missed them.

Plan your next escape – whilst you might not have the funds to book it you can still plan where you will go, what time of year and who with. Once again giving you something to look forward to.

Catch up on TV – most of us have the ability to record TV or access to live streaming, make sure you catch up on your favourite shows, that will make you feel much more ‘normal’.

Prolong your holiday by cracking open your Duty Free. Whether it is a dubious liqueur or a sample of the strong local tipple having one last holiday evening will prolong that holiday feeling.

Get back on your exercise and healthy diet routine. After the holiday excesses you may be feeling groggy and a little out of sorts. Often that is caused by inactivity or a naughty diet, get back into your exercise and health eating routine will make you feel much better!

Upload your pics and vids to social media and bask in all the positive comments from friends and family – private message the dodgy ones to your closest friends to get the ribbing you truly deserve.

Ask a friend, neighbour or relative to make sure you have the basics to come home to. There is nothing like that first cuppa!
